This horseback riding experience
will take place at Los Baqueanos Complex.
The Baqueanos Complex sits nestled
amongst high mountains in its spectacular setting of forest, rivers and lakefront
in the heart of the Nahuel Huapi National Park in the Patagonian Lake District.
The Complex is located at the southern-most end of the Gutiérrez Lake
at the foot of the impressive Pico D'Agostini peak, part of the southern end of
the Cerro Catedral mountain. It is 14 miles/22 kilometers away from the downtown
of San Carlos de Bariloche city at kilometer number 2016 of the famous Ruta 40.
This complex is home to eight hectares of native forest and an a half
a mile (800 meters) stretch of beach. It provides a huge natural space for different
outdoor activities and excursions on horseback, mountain bike and kayak. It has
acosy mountain style restaurant located on the shores of the lake and offers traditional
cuisine.
Upon arrival you are greeted with breakfast, before you set off
for a two-hour guided ride with one of our baqueanos (local guides), who know
these regions like the palm of their hands.
During the ride we explore
a native forest of ancient Cypress and Coihue trees, divided by a river and surrounded
by high mountains, as well as an area of pampas, discovering varied the native
flora and fauna.
Our destination is a viewpoint from where we can enjoy
a stunning view, before we begin our return journey to the Complex along the shores
of the Gutiérrez Lake. Upon our return a lunch awaits us in the restaurant, which
consists of roast meats and salads, homemade ice cream and the drink of your choice,
as well as a view of the lake from your table.
In the afternoon we do
another 2 hours horseback riding, and we then return to your hotel.
